University of Education, Lahore

University of Education, Lahore was established on September 02, 2002 with the vision to produce dynamic leaders and practitioners in teaching, research and management having content excellence and pedagogical competence. University has highly prestigious governance system which is open and transparent for the stakeholders. All the public affairs and managing of public resources is made efficiently and prudently by the Leadership of the Institution. The current leadership has taken several steps to revolutionize the old traditional system and develop online and speedy system with transparency and integrity.

University is offering degree programs including PhD, MS/MPhil, Masters, Bachelors and Post-Graduate Diplomas. The university has pledged that it will impart quality education to its students through highly qualified & skilled faculty and staff. University has the pride to have 397 faculty members across its campuses and divisions. Among these 164 are PhDs majority of them have been qualified from USA, Austria, Pakistan. Further the University has 211 MS/M.Phil. and 22 Masters faculty members.

The university has launched the University Management System (UMS) for online admissions, registrations and recruitment system. This system was a big stride towards the development of transparency in all the processes of university. Currently, the university has the honor to enroll 25000 students in various disciplines. To ensure equitable access to Higher Education, the university is offering 3086 scholarships to needy students in 2018-19.

The impact of libraries in education system is out of question. In 2016, all the processes of the university were manual and time consuming. Since then, the university has focused special attention on automation and up gradation of its central library. In this regards, library portal, fully functional library OPAC and access to HEC databases like Web of Science are the major highlights.

Research activities in institutions pave the path for the progress of the nation. The university has endeavored a lot to develop a true culture of research in its campuses and affiliated institutions. In the start of this journey in 2018-19, the university had produced 450 publications in HEC recognized journals and it submitted 30-research projects to HEC. The university has established its research liaison with other countries like China, Turkey, South Korea, USA and Iran.  The university has also signed MoUs for professional development of its faculty and research collaborations with AIPS, University of Applied Sciences, Finland, University of Gambia, Islamic Republic of Gambia and PHEC. 

University has excellence in imparting training in various fields of teaching, research and management. Substantial amount of funds are allocated for capacity building of its teaching and non-teaching staff by inviting National/International resource persons. Moreover, University has trained the college teachers in collaboration with Higher Education Department of Govt. of Punjab and the Govt. of Gilgit and Baltistan. Also, the services of university are extended in developing the primary education of the Province. 

Keeping in view, the diverse role of University of Education in academics, research and management it enjoys a unique status at national and international level.
