University of Economics - Varna (UE-Varna), founded in 1920, is one of the oldest higher education institutions in the economic branch of social sciences on the Balkan Peninsula. Within its 101-year-long history the University has provided valuable training to over 155,000 professionals specializing in economics, including many international students from over 60 countries. As a result, UE – Varna graduates have pursued successful careers locally and internationally. The University has been this country’s major pillar of economics education and research, developing as an entrepreneurial and socially responsible organization.  Over 230 full-time members of faculty currently teach over 8,000 Bulgarian and international students. Over 300 international students from 52 countries are currently pursuing their degrees at UE – Varna. We are partners with 258 universities from 45 countries. We have over 1,770 corporate and public admin partners.

UE – Varna offers undergraduate and post-graduate programmes delivered in English, Russian and Bulgarian. There are 3 international joint and double degree programmes respectively with: (1) Worms University of Applied Sciences, Germany; (2) Ural Federal University, Russia; (3) Seinajoki University of Applied Sciences, Finland.

It participates in various European programmes and projects (Erasmus+, CEEPUS, EVS, EEA and others), providing numerous opportunities to its students, faculty members and administrative staff. The University is proud of its centennial legacy, gaining further recognition among European universities with its high quality education, knowledgeable and competent members of faculty, and European curricula.

The research efforts of the institution are reinforced through active collaboration between the five research centers of UE - Varna working in a carefully calibrated environment. The University of Economics – Varna Research Institute incorporates six research and consulting centres that complete a huge range of projects.
