We understand that some of the most valuable lessons you’ll learn happen outside the lecture theatre. That’s why all our BSc degrees include work placement opportunities. Your undergraduate studies are a stepping stone to your career, and we’ll help you get there. Our Professional Development Programme will help you prepare for the career you want.

- BSc Accounting and Management is a new course and we don’t have any career data yet.

Our aim is to get you ready for the next step of your professional journey. You’ll receive personalised career support from our dedicated careers team and gain practical business experience. 

The focus on business starts from day one. You’ll interact with our Corporate Partners and learn what they look for in recruits. Through company engagement, team challenges, internships and our Practice Track you will have many chances to work with leading organisations. The Practice Track, our practical dissertation alternative, is available on five of our Master’s courses.

You’ll have access to a dedicated careers advisor, customised career workshops and specialised support for international students.

Our purpose-built building opened in June 2022. The latest technology gives you a flexible and modern learning environment. The design focuses on working together, with an open layout to enable effective teamwork. Our new building encourages engagement with other students and academics. A dedicated Employment Hub provides a space for you to meet and network with our industry partners.

We want to create even stronger links between the University and business and our building acts as a bridge between the two.

The building includes:

  • an Employability Hub - for our industry partners to visit and help prepare you for the workplace
  • The Pavilion café where you can study and meet with other students, faculty and employers
  • a Behavioural Research Lab – so you can study real and digital environments
  • nine lecture theatres and a 250 seat auditorium

Student life

The city

Bath is a beautiful city set in the rolling green hills of South West England. It’s famous for its natural hot springs and Georgian architecture. In fact, Bath’s so special it’s the only entire city in the UK that’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  But Bath’s not only special because of its history. It’s a great place to live, learn and work. There is a thriving business community in Bath, making it an exciting location for a range of organisations from entrepreneurs to global leaders. Bath has a friendly community atmosphere and is ranked the second safest university city in England and Wales (Complete University Guide 2023).

Sports and fitness

You can join one of the 49 sports clubs run by the SU. Each club welcomes new members, whether you're a novice or a professional. You can use the Team Bath Sports Training Village (STV) to keep fit, play sports, socialise, and get training and fitness support from expert members of staff, whatever your ability. Many of these facilities are free of charge with your Sports Pass, which is activated through your student library card.

Arts community

Managed by the SU, our campus creativity and wellbeing hub, The Edge, offers performance, rehearsal, and workshop spaces where you can get involved and enjoy arts, culture, and wellbeing activities.

Innovation and growth

Study with us and you’ll find exciting opportunities all around you. The South West of England is a growing centre for innovation and one of the leading areas in the UK for technology businesses. The area has strong and established sectors in advanced engineering, high technology, creative/digital media and low carbon.
