Universidad Hispanoamericana was founded in 1982 to offer programs in Business Administration, Accounting, Advertising and Tourism. Since then, the University has grown and today it has six undergraduate schools: Health Sciences, Engineering, Architecture, Business, Social Science, Education Science and a Graduate School with seven Master programs.
Our mission is to form professional leaders who can enact change to better the life conditions of Costa Rican society and the world, using active teaching and learning techniques, simulations, and other educational technologies.
With more than 40 years of experience, Universidad Hispanoamericana has grown and today has four campuses, three of them in the GAM (Great Metropolitan Area), the central zone of the country where most urban areas are found. It is possible to travel between these campuses by buss or car in less than an hour. The fourth campus is in Puntarenas, a province that covers most of the Pacific coast of the country.
What to expect in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica is a tropical country in Central America. This means that the mean temperature ranges between 25°C and 27°C (70 and 81 degrees Fahrenheit). Variations in temperature depend on altitude more than location, with colder temperatures in the mountains, of which the country has many. As a tropical country, rain is prevalent from May to November, this is considered the rainy season, the dry season goes from December to April.
Costa Rica is a small country of 51100 km2 (32000 square miles) and over 26% of its territory is protected in Ecological Conservation Areas. Due to is size and the amount of preservation areas, students can easily travel between historic and ecological sites during weekends and vacations. Costa Rica is known for its tourism: adventure tourism, ecotourism, rural and community tourism and more. The access to beaches is public and the bus system connects all the country.
