UBT - Higher Education Institution

Licenced UBT by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST), and accredited by Kosovo Accreditation Agency, UBT was established in Prishtina, Kosovo in 2001 as IEME - Institute for Enterprise Management and Engineering and in October 2004 has become the name UBT - University for Business and Technology. Based in Prishtina and operating in six different campuses throughout Kosova and also having centers in Vienna, Budapest and Tirana, Institution’s Focus is manly in so called Entrepreneurial Innovation based Ecosystem University in order to promote Smart System, Sustainability, Innovation and Resilience and convergence revolution through: System Design and Management, Technology, Business, Life Sciences, Law and Social Sciences, Medicine and Health Sciences. UBT is certified according ISO 9001, since 2007 and UBT is certified with Recognized for Excellence, 5*, according EFQM Business Excellence, 2018. In March 2021 UBT has launched its new concept of teaching, "Classroom 3.0", supported by its AVR Infrastructure. In June 2021, UBT was awarded with the 5th level of the Positive Impact Rating for Business Schools (https://www.positiveimpactrating.org/). In November 2021 UBT has launched its 5G Centre, in cooperation with NOKIA Finland. During 2022 UBT has fully funstionalized over 30,000 m2 areas, reaching to 43,840 m2 in all of its campuses around Kosova. In June 2022 UBT has launched the “UBT Accelerator”. In July 2022 UBT ranked among Top 101-200 Universities worldwide by WURI. In July 2022 UBT has been ranked as 6th University worldwide in the category of Fourth Industrialization, by WURI. In October 2022 UBT has organised it's 11th international interdisciplinary peer reviewed conference focused on RESILIENCE, INNOVATION, AND SUSTAINABILITY. In October 2022 UBT was awarded a “Top 10 Companies Worldwilde” award by EFQM. Currently UBT is working on its innovative concept for providing education and research services called as “Open University & Open Academia”. In order to better address SDGs throughout Institution’s everyday activities, UBT has established its Institutional Committee on Promoting and Implementing SDGs. The Committee is responsible for followings: - Design UBT’s Institutional Strategy for Promoting and Implementing SDGs; - Design and follow-up Institutional System for Measuring Progress Against SDGs; - Prepare policy, initiatives and actions to address SDGs; - To assure implementation of Institutional Strategy on SDG and to give feedbacks for further improvements; - To promote Institution’s best practices related to SDGs worldwide, including International Conferences, International Forums and International Ranking Platforms. Furthermore; UBT has launched 2023 and 2024 as Years of SDGs at UBT. In this regard; in 2023 UBT has established its Institutional Committee on Promoting and Implementing SDGs; has Completed its Institutional Strategy on Promoting and Implementing SDGs (was previously initiated in 2022); has designed its System on Monitoring and Evaluation to track progress against SDGs; has put in place numerous of actions foreseen in the given Strategy Document; has dedicated its Annual International Conference to Resilience, Innovation and Sustainability https://conferences.ubt-uni.net/2023/. During 2024, the Institution is committed to design all sectorial strategic documents mentioned in the previous paragraph; assure a solid progress on implementing its Institutional Strategy on Promoting and Implementing SDGs, as well as to dedicate its next Annual International Conference to Sustainability in general and SDG-s in particular. In this regard, each of 22 Sub-conferences will focus on SDGs related to their specific fields.
