Tver State Technical University (TvSTU)

TvSTU was established in 1922.  In 1994 it was awarded a university status.

TvSTU implements educational activities on the basis of the following documents:

•           License issued by the Federal Education and Science Supervision Service (33, Shabolovka, Moscow 117997) for the right to T&E activities as of January 21, 2016 (series 90L01 No. 0008919, Registration No. 1889, valid for life).

•           State Accreditation Certificate (series 90A01 No. 0002881, Registration No. 2745) issued by the Federal Education and Science Supervision Service for the period up to January 24, 2024.

Currently the university consists of eight Departments. TvSTU has got 48 subdepartments, with the staff being about 400 professors and lecturers.

Foreign students are trained at the International Academic Cooperation Department. Guests from more than 40 countries of the world study there.

TvSTU is a regional research leader in nanosystems, energy conservation, housу construction, automation, information technology, peat processing, machine-building, chemical engineering, biotechnologies, etc.

TvSTU students enjoy their opportunities to improve their knowledge in different sciences and technologies, carry out research, create and be physically active.

TvSTU has an Engineering and Industrial Design Center. Experienced designers and design engineers work there, with the students of TvSTU taking active part in projects. There is a laboratory of additive technologies (design and rapid prototyping) in the Center, an industrial design studio, a laboratory of robotics and automation, a laboratory of youth innovative creativity.

TvSTU is first included in QS EECA University Rankings in 2019, and in ТНЕ University Impact Rankings 2020.

Every year the TvSTU educational programs are included in the Book of the Best Educational Programs of Innovative Russia.

For sure, it is a vote of confidence of the academic, professional and student communities.TvSTU is in 100 top Russian universities according to the All-Russian conference Problems and Prospects of the Development of Higher Education and Science in the Russian Federation as well as to the European Scientific and Industrial Chamber (ARES-2020) with category of assessment BBB+ - reliable quality of teaching, scientific activity and demand of graduates by employers. 

TvSTU participated in Thomson Reuters Global Institutional Profiles Project. TvSTU has the Institutional Profiles data available in the Clarivate Analytics service known as InCitesTM.

TvSTU was included in The SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) 2020. TvSTU ranked 71 in Russia, Higher Education sector, the 61 st in Research Rank, the 44th in Innovation Rank, the 22nd in Social Rank.

TvSTU is included in RUR World UniversityRankings 2020 (51st position in Russia), RUR ReputationRankings and  RUR Subject Rankings, in category Technical science (31stposition in Russia), Natural science (45th position in Russia) in 2020 andHumanities (32nd position in Russia) in 2019. 

For all years of work, the university has educated 70+ thousands specialists and researchers, which is a serious contribution to the social and economic development of the Tver Region and Russia on the whole.
