About Thanh Do University

Thanh Do University stands as a prominent private institution in Vietnam, defined by a rich history of innovation and a steadfast commitment to applied learning. Officially established as a university in May 2009, the institution evolved from the Thanh Do College of Technology (founded in 2004). Throughout its development, the university has held the distinction of being a pioneer; it was the first private institution in the country to officially propose a transition from college to university status and the first to introduce training in Health Sciences, paving the way for a new generation of skilled professionals in the private sector.

The university's stature in the regional higher education landscape is substantiated by a consistent pursuit of academic excellence. Notably, in 2021, it achieved national accreditation for institutional quality assurance in accordance with Vietnamese Higher Education Quality Standards. This dedication to quality is further evidenced by the National Education Quality Accreditation obtained for six of its undergraduate and graduate programs, underscoring its adherence to rigorous educational frameworks. Further accolades include commendations from the Ministry of Education and Training and significant placements in international rankings. As of late 2025, the institution is ranked 44th in the AppliedHE ASEAN Private University Ranking 2026 and sits within the 171-190 band of the AppliedHE All-Asia Ranking 2026.

Thanh Do University offers a comprehensive educational pathway, ranging from Bachelor’s degrees to Master’s and Doctoral programs. The curriculum is designed to be application-oriented, ensuring graduates are industry-ready upon completion. The university creates a multidisciplinary environment across three levels:

  • Doctoral Level: Economic Management
  • Master Level: Economic Management; Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy; Contrastive Linguistics
  • Bachelor Level The undergraduate portfolio includes 14 majors focused on application-oriented learning:
  • Technology & Engineering: Information Technology; Automotive Engineering Technology; Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology
  • Business, Management & Law: Business Management; Accountancy; Office Administration; Hospitality Management; Law
  • Health Sciences: Pharmacy & Nursing
  • Humanities, Education & Languages: Education; Vietnamese Studies; English Studies; Chinese Studies

At the heart of the Thanh Do University experience is a unique educational philosophy centered on "Being an ICON," a framework that shapes students into holistic individuals through four key dimensions. This includes cultivating "Intelligence" through creativity and critical thinking; building "Capability" via resilience and the ability to overcome adversity; striving for "Objectivity" through ethical judgment and autonomy; and respecting "Nature" by balancing personal well-being with environmental responsibility. This philosophy is delivered through the mission of "WILL" (Work-Integrated Learning and Living), a distinctive pedagogical approach that meaningfully connects academic theory, practical experience, and personal development to ensure students are prepared for life beyond the classroom.

Supporting this holistic education is the ThadoEdu Park ecosystem, an expansion beyond the traditional campus that creates a seamless link between education and industry. This integrated environment encompasses UniGo, a K–9 school system, and Thadotek, a dedicated arm for Investment, Trade, and Development. This structure supports the university approach, ensuring students are grounded in local identity while being prepared for global challenges.
