of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers-National Research
University (TIIAME-NRU) is a first-class regionally recognized academic
and research institute known for its top programs in engineering (irrigation,
water resources, environment, electrification & automation, agricultural
mechanization), land management and agricultural economics / management &
marketing. Its alumni have played significant national roles since
independence. Shavkat Mirzoyeyev, who studied at the faculty of Agricultural
Mechanization from 1976 to 1981, was prime minister from 2003 to 2016 and has
been president since 2016. His leading lieutenants included Rustam Azimov,
minister of finance from 1998 to 2000 and from 2005 to 2016 and deputy prime
minister from 2005 to 2017.
Since 1923,TIIAME-NRU has
prepared over 58,000 specialists for water and agricultural industries,
academics, researchers, and leaders of government agencies. Its reputation
echoes throughout the world with more than 3000 alumni from 38 countries.
TIIAME-NRU faculty, who are recognized for their high level research, develops
new water conservation, irrigation and wastewater technologies. It collaborates
with internationally-renowned academic and research institutions through
educational and research projects. For instance, the institute has successfully
implemented projects with European Commission (e.g. Erasmus+, Erasmus Mundus,
and TEMPUS), USAID, BMBF, etc. Regular international conferences and summer schools
are held at TIIAME-NRU. The institute offers many courses including sustainable
management of water resources, application of GIS and Remote Sensing, and
agricultural soil management in English.
TIIAME-NRU has now 7
Divisions (Hydro melioration, Hydrotechnical construction, Agricultural
mechanization, Mechanization of hydro-ameliorative works, Energy supply of
agriculture and water resources, Land management resources, Organization and
management of water resources) which includes 36 Departments.
Degree programs now offered
include 32 Bachelor of Science programs, 31 Master of Science programs and 15
PhD programs. The student community includes over 5490 undergraduate students
(4810 full time and 680 part time), over 714 masters students and 98 international
students in foundation courses in bachelor while this index has reached to 53
in graduate international students.
Faculty members include 2
Academician, 65 Doctors Sciences (Professors), 393 PhD holders (Associate
Professors), 251 Senior Lecturers and other Teaching Assistants.
