Instead of a physical campus, SRH Distance Learning University students benefit from an E-campus so they can achieve the work-life balance that the school values. Therefore, you are not tied to a physical place.
All students are able to access the full body of learning materials for their course on the E-campus, which ensures immediate access to everything you need, wherever you are. Although SRH DLU is a distance learning institution, our headquarters is located in the south of Germany (Riedlingen, Baden Württemberg).

The E-campus has many features such as:

  • Multimedia learning content
  • An area to organise individual study
  • Registration for modules and exams
  • Registration for voluntary classes
  • The ability to submit assignments and exam papers
  • The ability to view grades
  • A personal email account
  • Access to tools such as Microsoft 365 and Teams to communicate with other students and faculty

The E-campus at SRH Distance Learning University is designed to identify and combat the problems that so many people run into when working remotely. It focuses on making sure that they have access to a wide range of learning materials and are able to communicate with the people around them. It is this combination of communication and diversity of information that sets SRH students up for success throughout their studies and after graduation.

Student life

You are unique. Your studies with us are, too.

At SRH Distance Learning University, students can expect to receive a quality education in any subject they choose. They will have the freedom to completely customise their university schedule and experience and work around their lifestyle and current obligations in order to achieve a good work-life balance.

Student wellbeing is very important at SRH Fernhochschule due to the distance learning elements of the course. SRH wants to ensure that their students are comfortable and feel supported during their time at university. They do this by assigning each student to an expert in their field of study so that any problems or questions can be answered quickly and effectively. This support is in place throughout a student’s studies and after graduation as they begin their career.

As SRH Fernhochschule is an online learning institution with no in- person campus, there are no accommodation options available at the university. Students can stay in their current place of residence or move anywhere they wish without it affecting their ability to study. In addition to this, students can choose to live in Germany, where the university is based, and apply for a German study visa. They also have the option to apply for a JobSeeker Visa after graduation in order to stay in Germany and begin their career. Students of SRH can apply to live in private student halls if they wish or can privately rent somewhere. Companies such as Studapart and UniAcco can help with this.

Our three success factors to help you obtain your academic degree

Our goal is to offer a programme that perfectly suits you and your life. Our flexible study model has three key success factors: With us you can study online, deepen your knowledge, and communicate personally. We believe that these components are essential for a successful degree alongside everyday life and your job.

As a graduate of the SRH Distance Learning University, you have the best prospects in the job market. Students can further improve their job prospects in Germany by learning the German language while studying and learning more about German employers via the JobTeaser (Verlinken) service that the university offers to prepare you for the German and European job market.

This programme offers advice on building a CV and cover letter as well as interviews and connects students to job postings in their corporate partner companies and beyond. Additionally, our Career Service supports you in your career development.

After graduating, students will have great job prospects in Germany as well as abroad. Germany’s unemployment rate, particularly for graduates, is very low meaning that students will have a good chance of entering the job market quickly after graduating. The country is particularly lacking in qualified STEM professionals and health-related occupations. Other desirable subjects include supply and waste management, IT and software developing and programming, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and medicine. Students can further improve their job prospects in Germany by learning the German language while studying and learning more about German employers via the JobTeaser service that the university offers which offers advice on building a CV and cover letter as well as interviews and connects students to job postings in their corporate partner companies and beyond.

Yes. Basically, you can transfer credits earned in other degree programmes or apart form higher education. You can only transfer credits that are not an admission criterion for your chosen study programme (this is why you cannot transfer credits from your general university entrance qualification, for example).
You can only transfer credits that meet the requirements of the Act on Higher Education (LHG) of the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg. Nor can we take into account skills you have gained from your professional experience. We will be happy to check for you which modules we can recognise or transfer, based on your previous expertise – free of charge and with no strings attached. Learn more about Recognition of previous achievements.

Due to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), study achievements are internationally comparable and recognised. 180 credits are required for successful completion of the Bachelor's programme. For the Master's degree, 60, 90 or 120 credits are required.

If you are a student living abroad, you can apply for an international scholarship. If you are a German student there are several ways to finance your studies such as a scholarship, a student grant (BAföG), an education cheque, educational leave, a study loan or a training loan to help pay for your distance learning programme with us.
