Students at Rutgers School of Environmental and Biological Sciences (SEBS) have the best of both worlds on several fronts. While taking advantage of all a large state university has to offer, our students enjoy the cozy atmosphere of a small college. Nestled on the  George H. Cook campus  of Rutgers–New Brunswick, SEBS students form bonding relationships with their peers in their classes, living-learning communities, and research laboratories, working on-campus farms, greenhouses, gardens, and ocean observatory, and involvement in a multitude of student organizations and athletic clubs.

FAQs

Students interested in the Agriculture and Food Systems major should meet the minimum requirements for entry into the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences including 3 years of mathematics and 2 years of science at the high school level. Students should also complete 4 years of English and must score at least a 79 on the TOEFL or a 6.5 on the IELTS. With consideration to COVID disruptions, we are also accepting the DuoLingo test and all other standardized tests are optional for the spring and 2022 application cycle.
All students at SEBS are required to complete what we call Experience Based Education. This requirement includes internships, research, study abroad, and much more. Faculty and staff at the university are trained to advise students on the different types of experience-based opportunities within and outside of the university. Additionally, our SPIN program - Student to Professional Internship Network - links students to external internship opportunities directly tied to our academic majors.
