Poornima University (PU) is a prestigious state-private university located in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India on a 32-acre urban campus. It was established in 2012 by the Shanti Education Society with a clear vision to provide quality multidisciplinary higher education and to nurture students for global professional careers. The establishment of the university was sanctioned by the Rajasthan State Legislature through Act No. 16 of 2012 and is duly recognised under Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956, making it a fully accredited institution under Indian higher education regulations.

Cost of Living

Poornima University offers a vibrant academic environment with a range of on-campus and off-campus living options for students. Jaipur generally offers a comparatively affordable cost of living compared with major metropolitan cities. The proximity of the university to Sitapura Industrial Area and surrounding residential localities also provides students with several accommodation, food, transportation, and daily-use options.

Hostel Accommodation (On-Campus):

Poornima University provides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls with furnished rooms, mess facilities, Wi-Fi, laundry, power backup, gymnasium, indoor and outdoor sports, medical support and other student amenities. The hostel charges are approximately:

·          Double Occupancy – Fan & Common Washrooms: INR 1,15,000

·          Double Occupancy – Air Cooling & Common Washrooms: INR 1,27,000

·          Double Occupancy – AC & Common Washrooms: INR 1,35,000

·          AC/Attached facilities and premium accommodation: approximately ₹1,50,000 on room configuration and facilities.

Additional charges may apply for facilities such as single occupancy, attached washroom and certain electrical appliances.

Private Paying Guest (PG) or Rented Accommodation:

Students who prefer to stay outside the university campus can find PGs and shared rental accommodation in and around Vidhani Vatika, Sitapura, Sanganer and nearby residential areas.

For budgeting purposes, the following estimates may be considered:

·          Double/Triple-sharing PG: approximately INR 5,500 per month

·          Single/shared premium room: approximately INR 7,500 per month

·          PG with food and additional facilities: approximately INR 8,000 per month

Food and Grocery Expenses:

Students staying outside the campus may spend approximately INR 3,000 per month on groceries, meals and other basic food requirements. Students who frequently eat outside or choose premium food options may spend around INR 5,000 per month.

Transportation Costs:

Since Poornima University is situated in Sitapura Extension / Vidhani Vatika, students living close to the campus can keep transportation expenses relatively low. Students may use university transport/shuttle services, shared autos, buses, two-wheelers or other local transportation.

A reasonable monthly transportation budget may be considered as:

·          Students living near the university: INR 800 per month

·          Students travelling regularly from farther residential areas: INR 1,500 per month

Accordingly, annual transportation expenditure may range approximately from ₹9,600.

Utilities and Communication Expenses:

For students living in PGs or rented accommodation, electricity, water, internet and other utility expenses may vary depending on the rental agreement and consumption.

A reasonable estimate is:

·          Mobile/internet: INR 299 per month
