They treat people with mental health problems but also seek to understand how factors such as personality, society and culture affect behaviour and provide counselling that can help people from all walks of life lead happier, healthier and more productive lives.

In a single year of study, the Master of Professional Psychology provides you with the necessary knowledge and skills you need to complete a final, sixth year of supervised placement and gain registration as a generalist psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. Admission Requirements

Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited AQF Level 7 (Years 1-3) and Level 8 (Honours or 4th year equivalent) qualification(s) in psychology, or equivalent, including international qualification(s) deemed equivalent by the Australian Psychological Society:
  • Minimum WAM of 65 for Years 1-3 of APAC accredited AQF Level 7 qualification or equivalent in psychology, including international qualification(s) deemed equivalent by the Australian Psychological Society
  • Minimum WAM of 75 in Year 4 (Honours or 4th year equivalent) of APAC accredited AQF Level 8 psychology qualification or equivalent, including international qualification(s) deemed equivalent by the Australian Psychological Society
In addition:
  • Eligibility for provisional or full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
  • Relevant work experience
  • Two satisfactory referee reports 
  • Satisfactory personal statement(s)
  • Satisfactory Multiple Mini Interview performance
