The LNM Institute of Information Technology

The LNM Institute of Information Technology (LNMIIT), Jaipur, is an institution of higher learning focused on select areas of Computing, Communication, ICT, Electronics and carefully chosen traditional engineering and sciences with an innovative blend of interdisciplinary flavour and contemporary relevance including Mechanical and Mechatronics with opportunities in the realms of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Internet of Things, 5G and beyond. The Institute, in spite of being young (founded in the year 2002, jointly by the Government of Rajasthan and the Lakshmi & Usha Mittal Foundation in the public-private partnership mode) is considered as one of the best institutions in its chosen areas of higher learning, both in the state and the country. It has been accredited by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) as an ‘A’ grade institution. In particular, the institute takes efforts to continuously innovate in multiple spheres and is known to be one of the best systems in the country outside of the IIT system, both in terms of student and faculty quality as well as academic and research environment. All the engineering programmes of the institute are approved by the AICTE. The LNMIIT was granted Deemed-to-be-University status by the UGC in 2006 under the De-Novo category. The 100-acre lush green residential campus is located in a serene atmosphere on the outskirts of India’s Pink City, Jaipur. So far, 3502 students have graduated with B.Tech. degrees and 177 students have been awarded Master’s degrees (M.Tech., M.Sc., M.S. (by Research)) and 24 students have been awarded Ph.D. degrees. Currently, the Institute has 2184 bachelors, 23 masters’ and 81 doctoral students. Presence of the LNMIIT alumni in the industry (including top MNCs), start-ups, academia (including IITs), community outreach initiatives as well as in the government sector is a testimony to the Institute’s eco-system that champions the holistic development of students alongside their good academic and research practices. History of the Institute reflects the profound commitment of LNMIIT to quality in the teaching-learning domain, gradual strengthening of its research profile and systematic expansion into new domains of learning while continually upgrading its programmes, policies and infrastructure.
