KLE ACADEMY OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH

The University encompasses eight constituent units with latest infrastructural facilities. The faculties of  Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy and Nursing sciences   offers 193 diverse academic programs with 725 dedicated  faculty.  

 Quality enhancement  and sustenance in all fields has been the prime focus of the University  that has proved University’s  accreditation  with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC in two consequent cycles in March 2010, (CGPA 3.16) and in 2016 (CGPA 3.34), and its placement in Category ‘A’ by MHRD, GoI in 2012.  UGC has graded and placed the University  in  Category –II- of Deemed to be Universities in 2018. The campus is ranked 3rd among  all higher  education institutions for  Swachh  Campus Rankings 2018.

The University is proud of its internationally recognized global center at J. N. Medical College. It is one of the nine leading global sites of NICHD (USA) for Women and Child Health Research funded by NIH, USA that is undertaking community-oriented research projects.  Community-based research projects involving grant of approximately Rs.30 crores funded by NICHD, USA,attracted the visit of Ms. Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of Health, and United States of America who appreciated the contributions of the center to health research.  Medical institute is a  Regional  and Nodal Centre of MCI for training of the trainers.  University has signed an MOU with Thomas Jefferson’s University, Philadelphia, USA for academic and research activities.

The subject areas of Geriatrics and Good Laboratory Practices  are recognized by  Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, GoI,  under the scheme of HRD  for Health Resources in 2013 and Dept. of Microbiology by NABL in 2017 in the Medical college. University hospital has National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories. The NABH has accredited teaching hospital of medical sciences,  Ayurveda Hospital and  the Ethics Committee of University. The Ethics Committee is also recognized by FERCAP  in 2017.

Institutional Review Board is recognized by Human Research Protections by the U.S Department of Health and Human Services for research involving human subjects and clinical investigation regulated by FDA  of DHHS.

The Central Research Facility of Ayurveda institute has been recognized as approved ASU drug testing laboratory by Department of AYUSH, GoI in 2011. CSIR has recognized and established a collaborative center TRISUTRA – AYURGENOMICS in December 2012 here.

Voluminous amount of scientific data of research  are published in national and international journals with good impact factor,  which have got national and international acclaims.  Work on  Misoprostol for Postpartum Hemorrhage has been included in:Guidelines of MOH, Government of India, FIGO-ICM Guidelines, WHO List of Essential Medicines , UN Life-Saving Commodities for Women and Children,  and is registered in 26 countries. The research BRASSS-V® Drape  has been included by MOHFW in MNH Toolkit 2013.

Annual budgetary provision for research around Rs. 10 crores, 127 Ph.D.s awarded, agreement with more than 58 national and international bodies like NIH (USA), WHO, Clinton Foundation, ICMR, Department of AYUSH,  CCIM, VGST etc. and  University hospital  a nucleus of several international drug trials has put  University’s research  at echelon.
