Below, you’ll find information about the admissions process and entry requirements for each study level. As well as academic and professional requirements, you’ll also need to meet the computer requirements for your course.   1. Apply online: Complete your application using the simple online form. You can do this independently or with the help of a study advisor. The form will guide you through each step of the process.
  2. Sign your contract: After submitting your application, you’ll receive a personalised study contract. Read, sign digitally, and upload it to your personal upload page. This contract includes study fees, start dates, and a checklist of required documents.
  3. Upload your documents: Submit the required documents as listed in your programme page, free information material, and your contract checklist. Use the personal upload page link provided in your contract email. During high application periods, document review might take 1-2 weeks.
  4. Start your studies On your start date, you’ll get an email with login details for all necessary systems, including the IU Learn app, myCampus, student email, and your free MS Office suite. All applications are submitted online, using the simple form.
After selecting your course and ensuring you meet the requirements, submit your online application. A study contract will be available for download at the end of the application. 
Sign and upload your study contract via your uploads page. After uploading your signed contract, submit your admission documents. The university’s admissions team will review them to confirm your eligibility. You also need to pay the first month’s fees at this stage. If additional documents are needed, admissions will notify you via email. Once payment is completed, you will be registered and receive an email with the next steps. Yes, all IU study programmes are state-accredited by the German Science Council and the state of Thuringia. They follow the European ECTS credits framework (the Bologna Process). IU also holds system accreditation, allowing them to independently accredit new programmes under German quality standards.
