All admitted students will follow a Common Year One curriculum. After their first year of study, students can gain entry into one of five Majors offered by the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies (CBS), the Department of Chinese History and Culture (CHC), and the Department of English and Communication (ENGL), through a ranking assessment based on a combination of entrance qualification score, Year One GPA, and interview performance.

Admissions and tuition fees
Admission requirements vary by subject. If you are sitting the International Baccalaureate, for instance, aim to score at least 24 points in total, with at least grade four in two of your higher level subjects. Read guidelines on international admission requirements here.

Full-time bachelor’s students in the 2017-18 academic year will be charged HK$120,000 (approximately US$15,585) per academic year.

In addition to the entry requirements specific to your chosen programmes, you would need to meet PolyU’s English language requirements. If you are a non-native English speaker and haven’t received an undergraduate qualification from an English-language university, you would need to fulfill the University’s requirement on TOEFL or IELTS.

Meanwhile, tuition fees for international students at postgraduate level vary depending on the course.
