The  Bachelor of Science  in  Electrical and Computer Engineering  (EECE) program prepares engineers for interesting and challenging positions in diverse fields of electrical and computer engineering from automotive, energy, communication to consumer electronics such as smartphones, tablets, computers, appliances and much more. In addition, the program prepares graduates to be at the forefront of designing the next generation of electrical and computer devices.

This is a designated STEM program (see OPT Extension).

Accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org.

Learn

Students learn the theory and principles of electricity, electronic devices, and complex system design. The curriculum covers analog and digital circuits, microprocessors, power systems, electrical components, and how these are incorporated into sensors, actuators, and computer systems. In addition, students will learn about electrical and computer engineering design, computer systems, and computer networking. There are many opportunities for hands-on learning as well as traditional theory-based learning.

Opportunities

Employment opportunities are excellent in developing, designing, testing, and supervising the manufacturing of electrical devices, communication systems, computer systems, and power generation equipment. Electrical and computer engineers also design the electrical systems of automobiles and aircraft. There are also job opportunities in technical sales and operations. An ECE degree also offers an excellent background for advanced training in engineering, business, law, medicine, and other analytical disciplines.
