About Cankiri Karatekin University

Çankırı Karatekin University is located in the geographic centre of Türkiye and is 1 and a half hour distance from the Capital of the Country (Ankara). The university is one of the youngest public universities established in 2007. The university was established by merging specific faculties and vocational schools of Ankara University and Gazi University. Çankırı Karatekin University is still taking advantage of these old-rooted universities’ experiences to grow. The university has one main campus called Uluyazı, and many other schools and faculties in the city centre and districts which allow students to connect with citizens. Uluyazı Campus is home to most of the faculties as well as a library, sports centre and science labs, etc. In addition, the university also offers postgraduate programmes via the Graduate Schools of Fine Arts, Natural and Applied Sciences, Health Sciences and Social Sciences. While the university is young it is one of the internationally well-known universities in Turkey. It has over 3000 international students from different countries. On campus and in the city there is a range of residence halls with areas for studying and socialising. The university has several research centres including the Women and Family Studies Application and Research Center, Public-University-Industry Cooperation Center, and African Countries Cooperation Application and Research Center, etc. As well to its research centres, the university has a Technology Park and a Technology Transfer Office.
