About Canadian University Dubai

The Canadian University Dubai has a new location at City Walk in the heart of downtown Dubai. The university now offers hi-tech classrooms, an incubator lab and innovative subject specific labs, with a primary focus on entrepreneurship, research and a non-conventional approach to teaching and learning. 

A wide range of laboratories and research facilities are among the new amenities. Students will benefit from flexible and innovative approaches to teaching and learning. 

Canadian University Dubai (CUD) is the first licensed Canadian university outside of Canada. CUD offers an education based on the Canadian curriculum, giving students an internationally recognized degree. Students can start their degree with CUD and transfer to one of their partner universities in Canada to graduate. Studying at CUD provides a gateway for students to pursue higher education, research, and employment opportunities in Canada and around the world.  

CUD is licensed by the UAE Ministry of Education, accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA), holds program accreditations such as, PSRA and IAA, and leading industry certifications such as CIMA, CFA, ACCA. 

The main language of instruction at CUD is English but: 
 

  • Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
  • Bachelor of Arts in Applied Sociology are offered in Arabic.

Available programs

CUD offers 23 undergraduate programs in English, two undergraduate programs in Arabic and six graduate programs. Here are the undergraduate admissions requirements

Undergraduate courses and programs span across:

  • Environmental Health Sciences

  • Social Sciences 


The UAE High School Certificate, or its equivalent, is required with an average score of 60 percent or more (see the Program Specific Requirements section for more information). 

Undergraduate fees vary between programs. Check out CUD’s website for accurate info. 

Tuition fees for local and international students are the same.  

Scholarships are available to all students.  

International students apply for undergraduate programs at CUD in the same way that local UAE residents applies: 

  • Online 
  • In person: visit the campus for a personal tour and one of the officers will help you complete an application 

There are six graduate programs available at CUD, including: 

  • Master of Business Administration
  • Master in IT Management and Governance

International students apply for graduate programs at CUD in the same way that a local UAE resident applies. There are two ways to complete an application form:   

  • Online 
  • In person: Visit the campus for a personal tour and one of the officers will help you complete an application 

 

University information

Usual entry requirements for admission at CUD includes: 

  • UAE High School Certificate, or its equivalent  with an average score of 60 percent or more (see Program Specific Requirements for more information).

A holder of the National High School Certificate of a foreign country is eligible for admission if:

  • The certificate is valid for admission to a public university of the Country in which it was issued.
  • The certificate was obtained on completion of at least 12 years of schooling.
  • The certificate includes at least six (6) subjects covering the four core fields of: Mathematics, Sciences, Languages, and the Social Sciences & Humanities or Arts. 


A holder of High School Certificates from any country that has two levels of High School Certificates must submit the higher level of the two certificates. 

Additional requirements for all programs delivered in the Arabic language: 

  • EmSAT Arabic Language (Minimum score 1000) 

 

International students must also provide: 

  • All certificates and transcripts must be attested by the Ministry of Education where the issuing High School is based
  • Students need certificates and transcripts attested by the UAE embassy or consulate in that same country. To find out more, prospective students should  speak to an Admissions officer.

CUD has a select list of international equivalent admission requirements available on their website; if you do not see your educational system listed there, contact the Admissions Department for more information. 

Scholarships are open to all students who have met all the admission requirements. 

Scholarships are awarded to full-time students enrolled in four academic courses or more per semester:
