Bialystok University of Technology is the largest technical university in north-eastern Poland. It has over 70 years of tradition in educating engineering and highly qualified scientific and research staff for the needs of the region.
Today it has 6 faculties: Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Computer Science, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Faculty of Engineering Management, over 7 thousand students, a doctoral school It has over 600 academic lecturers, 8 authorisations to confer a doctoral degree and 5 authorisations to confer a post-doctoral degree.
From Architecture, through Automatic Control and Robotics, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, and Forestry, to Management – Bialystok University of Technology offers 30 attractive courses (programmes). We offer 1st degree (Engineer’s mostly), 2nd degree (Master’s) and 3rd degree (PhD) studies, postgraduate studies, as well as training and language courses.
Bialystok University of Technology is a regional leader in research and development, as well as in teaching. Students and employees have access to the latest scientific achievements.
If you decide to study at Bialystok University of Technology, you can choose from among future-oriented courses. Our study plans are consulted with the biggest employers in the region, and our students complete their internships and work placements in our partner firms as early as during studies. A great majority of our graduates find jobs within the first year after graduation.
New investments provide excellent conditions for cooperation with the business sector.
In the years 2004 - 2021 BUT implemented over 130 projects with a total value exceeding PLN 493 million.
There are nearly 60 scientific associations at the University, the Academic Incubator of Entrepreneurship and Selected New Technologies and the Career Development and Alumni Relations Office. Dual courses of studies are conducted with the largest employers in the region.
Bialystok University of Technology cooperates with many academic centres all over the world. We have over 500 active bilateral agreements in scientific and educational cooperation with foreign partners.
Under the Erasmus+ Programme you can study for 1 semester or 2 semesters at one of our partner universities, get to know other cultures and languages, and meet new friends. Every year, nearly 500 students take this opportunity. Universities in Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Denmark are very popular among our students and staff, while our university is mostly visited for a semester or two by guests from Portugal, Spain, and Turkey. International guest students can also apply as so-called free-movers, which means they can study for 1 or maximum 2 semesters without taking part in an exchange programme.
Bialystok University of Technology, together with Cracow University of Technology and Tianjin Chengjian University, co-runs the International School of Engineering at Tianjin Chengjian University. It is governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Poland.
Special purpose vehicle of Bialystok University of Technology - Institute of Innovation and Technology of Bialystok University of Technology with the status of Research and Development Centre combines production potential with the scientific potential of the university. It constitutes a laboratory for enterprises willing to introduce technical innovations into their production.
We have continuously been developing our scientific and teaching infrastructure. We invest in energy from the nature and educate specialists in renewable energy. In our campus you can see wind turbines, solar cells, and heat pumps – all used to power our laboratories and students’ hostels. In our INNO-EKO-TECH centre students of Biotechnology, Environmental Engineering, and Ecological Power Engineering learn about such future-oriented sectors of the economy as renewable energy resources (RES), energy-efficient construction, and environmental protection.
Bialystok University of Technology is a partner of Xylopolis - a presentation of the Podlaskie Voivodeship at EXPO 2020 Dubai, which may become the International Centre of Science and Arts at the University campus.
