Information and Library Science

The Bachelor of Information and Library Science (IIP) study program stands as the most recent addition to the esteemed Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Universitas Airlangga. Launched in 2003, this program is dedicated to nurturing graduates equipped with a blend of tangible and intangible skills that are aligned with the demands of the contemporary job market. Ensuring the currency and efficacy of the learning experience is an ongoing endeavor, spearheaded by periodic curriculum reviews undertaken in collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders. Notably, the Association of Indonesian Library and Information Science Higher Education Providers (APTIPI) plays a pivotal role in this process.

Evidencing this commitment to continuous enhancement, the program introduces novel course offerings, such as archiving, thus reflecting its proactive engagement with emerging industry trends. The IIP program garners distinction through its triumvirate of accreditation achievements: a nationally recognized "excellent" rating from BAN-PT, in tandem with international accolades from ASiC and FIBAA, underscoring its resolute commitment to academic quality and relevance.
