If you are a health and social care practitioner undertaking work-based learning, our Master’s degree in Enhanced Professional Practice is an excellent way for you to gain formal academic credit for your professional development.
The course is a highly flexible and modular programme led by your needs as a student and as a busy professional. You will cover key policy and practice related topics to help you develop and refine your critical analysis skills in relation to health and social care. You have the flexibility to choose what you learn about which is relevant to both your role and personal professional practice in your chosen speciality.
Most students undertaking this course will be in employment in an area where there is commitment to work based learning as this programme allows postgraduate studies to be undertaken whilst working.
The course commences with a compulsory induction week in early October which prepares you to become an independent work-based learner for each module you undertake. During the week you will be introduced to the principles of work-based learning through a blended learning approach including in person, online and independent guided study sessions.
As there are no weekly taught days after induction week, your learning is facilitated through academic supervision with your named personal tutor, attendance at hybrid action learning sets 90 minutes per month, and access to a range on online learning resources available on Canvas.
Each module assessment is development of an e-portfolio comprising learning contract, narrative, and portfolio evidence of learning.
