To produce graduates who can analyze, design, plan, and optimize drilling techniques, reserve calculations, recovery, storage, and transportation of natural gas and petroleum. Additionally, to foster participation in research groups promoting innovation and technological development within the gas and petroleum industry.

Profile

A Petroleum and Natural Gas Technician will be qualified to:

  • Operate, control, and optimize exploration, drilling, well completion, production, recovery, storage, and transportation processes of petroleum, adhering to quality, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Design and project analyze drilling techniques.
  • Design storage, transportation, and distribution systems for petroleum and natural gas.
  • Design and apply methods and tools for executing petroleum and natural gas projects, as well as supervising them.
  • Design internal and external, residential, industrial, and commercial natural gas distribution networks.
  • Promote the study of environmental and safety aspects in the design and execution of gas and petroleum projects.
  • Conduct research to verify and improve the various stages of hydrocarbon treatment operations.
  • Participate in the commercialization of petrochemical products.
