The three-year Bachelor in Records Management and Archival Science at Sorbonne Abu Dhabi is designed in collaboration with the National Archives of the United Arab Emirates. The program will be taught in English by doctors, professors and international experts to provide students with the highest levels of scientific and professional skills in a field that has been developing in recent decades.

In order to manage the data and documents produced daily in our current world, all institutions and companies need to hire specialized experts in this strategic area because document management is very important for them to have full control over all institutional data and information in order to make better decisions, protect their rights and document institutional memory.

The degree is delivered by Sorbonne University in Paris. Its complete title is: Bachelor in the field of Human and Social Sciences; Area: History; Specialty: Records Management and Archival Science. In the French academic system, this specialization is usually related to History due to a long-standing tradition of historical record keeping and archives. However, this degree mainly focuses on the topical issues of records management and archival science in a professional context.

Admission requirements

Admission to the program is very selective; the following are minimal criteria to apply for admission in to the Foundation Year:

  • High School Diploma with a minimum 80% average (or equivalent)
  • English Proficiency Exam: EmSAT – English – minimum score of 1250, 70 in iBT TOEFL or IELTS 5.5
  • Arabic Proficiency: A minimum average of 75% in the Arabic subject in the high school

Based on the recommendation of the Admission Committee, a selection of outstanding applicants might be offered direct admission into the first year of the Bachelor in Records Management and Archival Science.

Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi offers 10+ undergraduate bachelor programmes covering Humanities, Sciences, Languages, Social sciences, and law delivered by permanent faculty based in Abu Dhabi and Visiting professors. All programmes follow the academic curricula defined in Paris, except for the bachelors specific to the Abu Dhabi campus. However, all programmes offer high quality education and answer the European academic standards.
