Comenius University Bratislava

Comenius University Bratislava has established itself as the most prominent and largest public university in the Slovak Republic. It was founded on June 27th, 1919. At the time being it has 13 faculties: Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, Jessenius Faculty of Medicine in Martin, Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, Faculty of Roman Catholic Theology of Cyril and Methodius, Evangelical Lutheran Theological Faculty, Faculty of Management and Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences. Comenius University entered its second century with a clear goal - to maintain its good reputation, continue to enhance its prestige in Europe and worldwide, and to continue improving the quality of education and scientific activities. The strategy of development of Comenius University reflects the changes happening to universities and societies in Slovakia and around the world. The goal is to reinforce its position of the most important domestic university and science centre in Slovakia and to become a sought-after partner in the international area of education and research.
