"The global sports industry is not like other industries, and companies that operate in this highly international and competitive environment need their managers to adapt their knowledge to the particular dynamics of this market. In response to the specific recruitment needs of this continuously growing industry, EMLYON Business School successfully unites its expertise in international management with the market experience of some of the world’s major outdoor sports companies in the MSc in Sports Industry Management.” – Pascal Aymar, Program Director
This 16-month specialized program gives you in-depth knowledge of the global sports industry through time spent studying in Lyon, the Alps, and Shanghai. Furthermore it provides you with the opportunity to work with some of the biggest international brands in the market and enter the professional sphere well prepared to face the challenges of this highly coveted industry.
Learn to operate in the global sports industry
As a manager in the global sports industry, you will certainly be selling to, supplying from and competing with companies from all over the world. Studying at the heart of both the European and Asian sports and outdoor industries allows you to gain experience in two key markets, understand the challenges companies face in these business environments, and enter the professional world well prepared to successfully navigate this booming international sector. Moreover, sharing your learning experience with fellow students hailing from a multitude of cultures and nationalities will teach you how to work with and lead international teams in sports management.
Benefit from the expertise of sports industry experts
Headquartered in Annecy, the Outdoor Sports Valley is an official industry cluster and trade association with the key role to federate, represent and contribute to the development of the outdoor sports industry. As OSV is the official partner of the MSc in Sports Industry Management, you benefit both from the professional expertise of OSV members as well as the professional network of this cluster.
For example, in the next few weeks, the current cohort travelled to Munich to attend the ISPO fair, an international multi-segment trade show for sports businesses, and met key global sports industry players from companies such as Intersport, Amer Sport and Jack Wolfskin. Other guest lecturers coming to share their knowledge with the students include the B2C VP of Amer Sports Group, the founder and CEO of Hoka (and ex CEO of Salomon) , the financial director of Patagonia Europe, the marketing director of Columbia Europe, and the international sales director of Millet and Eider.
Start a successful sports management career
The program includes a four-month minimum internship, a fundamental stepping-stone in order to complete the program with hands-on professional experience and start building a global network. Thanks to the support of EMLYON’s Careers Services as well as OSV’s international connections to the sports industry, you have all the tools you need to find the internship that will jump-start your sports management career.
