This program promotes thoughtful inquiry and prepares students well for graduate studies or a physics-related career. A degree in physics or astronomy may qualify students for a wide range of positions related to different areas such as engineering, mathematics, computer science and environmental science; and for those with the appropriate background, some non-science fields as well, such as finance. As an undergraduate, they will learn from excellent faculty and find the equipment, facilities and resources they need to dig into the scientific and technological work that will help prepare them for their future. This option is available within the physics major for students with a particular interest in astronomy or astrophysics. Other English Language Requirements: a paper-based TOEFL score of 550 and a minimum computer-based TOEFL score of 213; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (minimum score of 77); Pearson Test of English (minimum score of 53); ELS Language Center Program: Completion of Level 112.
