About Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM)
The Autonomous Metropolitan University (UAM) is a public Institution with more than 45 years of experience, is one of the leading universities in Mexico. We offer 82 undergraduate and 111 Postgraduate program. UAM has over 59,705 students.
Our academic model is innovative, flexible, at the vanguard of higher education and strongly linked to our social environment; our flexibility has helped us maintain our place in vanguard of higher education.
The academic staff is one of the most solid of the country, we have over 3,088 academics with a lecture-research profile, 89% are full-time and 87% have postgraduate degrees. Over 38% are registered in the National Researcher´s System (Sistema Nacional de Investigadores - SNI) which assesses and provides recognition of the high quality and relevance of their research projects and results.
We have four campuses strategically located in around México City: Azcapotzalco, Cuajimalpa, Iztapalapa and Xochimilco; the fifth campus is located in the town of Lerma (State of México).
In each campus, we have three Divisions as following:
Campus UAM- Azcapotzalco: Basic Sciences and Engineering, Social Sciences and Humanities and Science and Art for Design.
Campus UAM- Cuajimalapa: Communication Science and Design, Social Sciences and Humanities and Natural Sciences and Engineering.
Campus UAM- Iztapalapa: Basic Sciences and Engineering, Biological Sciences and Health and Social Sciences and Humanities.
Campus UAM- Lerma: Basic Sciences and Engineering, Biological Sciences and Health and Social Sciences and Humanities.
Campus UAM- Xochimilco: Science and Art for Design, Biological Sciences and Health, Social Sciences and Humanities.
Several of the academic divisions have sustainability degrees and research within a multidisciplinary perspective.
UAM participates in institutional research programs and proposals whit multidisciplinary projects, at the national and international level whit the aim of contributing to Mexico’s grow and development.

There are two selection processes offered for admissions each year: First Selection Process has the option to enter in spring or autumn; Second Process, to start classes in autumn.
Usual admissions requirements for UAM:
• Sit an exam and be selected
• Have completed the baccalaureate or equivalent level in the National Education System, with a minimum average of 7.0
• If you didn’t study in the National Education System (of Mexico), you must have the revalidation of studies issued by the Mexican Ministry of Public Education (SEP)

There are approx. 5,000 bachelor's graduates per year and 750 postgraduate grads.
67.6% of undergraduate grads found employment in less than 6 months. Similarly, according to the Graduate Studies survey, 70.1% of postgraduate grads were employed within six months.
