Thammasat University (TU) is the second oldest, leading comprehensive university in Thailand. Inaugurated in 1934 with social science and humanities to serve society’s thirst for modern knowledge. Thammasat, thus, has been known as “the university for the people”.

Available programs

Thammasat offers bachelor’s degree programs in all fields, covering sociology, humanities, science and technology, and health sciences, in Thai, bilingual and international programs.There are also double degree programs featuring collaboration with other universities; double major programs; integrated bachelor’s and master’s degree programs that take five years to complete.

Tuition fees vary according to the program, but the average fees for international students are approximately US$3,500.

Thammasat offers graduate degree programs in all fields, covering sociology, humanities, science and technology, and health sciences, in Thai, bilingual and international programs.

There are two types of lecture sessions: normal programs in office hours and special programs in the evenings or on weekends.

Students on master’s degree programs can pursue their own interests in research-oriented programs. Students are required to complete a “thesis” to contribute to a new body of knowledge or conduct a specialized study in their industries or careers.

The doctorate degree programs encourage students to conduct a “dissertation” research contributing to the country’s development and new technologies.

Thammasat University has four campuses:

Thammasat Rangsit Campus has a sports stadium and facilities that hosted the 1988 Asian Games. The campus houses an international convention center, theater, shops, shopping mall, canteens, parks, and the student activity complex with over 150 clubs and societies.

Student life

Thammasat has a total of 381 international students from 21 nationalities which represent around 1.4 percent of student body.
There are a number of sports, art and culture, and volunteer activities for the students to enjoy.
