Coventry University offers several course start dates spread across the calendar year. You can start your studies in September, January or May, depending on your programme and when it is suitable for you.

 

Your semesters will be structured around a block of teaching, a block of tests or exams, and then a study break. The exact schedule depends on your chosen course. Some courses, like those for NHS careers or condensed courses, may follow different academic calendars.

Coventry University offers flexibility with full-time and part-time study, multiple course start times, as well as online learning . There are also campuses in London and Scarborough as well as Coventry. They also offer some blended learning options that mix face-to-face and online teaching.   

 

Full-time postgraduate courses take a year to complete on average, but part-time and online learning courses may take longer. A part-time course can be split over 24 months and an online course even longer, being more flexible and adapting to a student’s needs. The majority of their postgraduate courses have an entry requirement of an undergraduate degree award of 2.2 or above, in some cases a relevant or related degree and in some cases work experience is considered as well.

University information

Undergraduate UK students should apply to Coventry University through UCAS and you’ll need to include a personal statement and reference. Postgraduate UK students can apply online direct to the university.

International undergraduate students can apply directly to the university online, through an agent/representative, through UCAS or through a country representative. In order to make a decision on your application, we will need:

• All academic transcripts

• Copies of degree/diploma certificates or work reference if employed

• One academic reference

An English language test score

• Your personal statement

• Copy of your current passport


International postgraduate students can apply through the same methods as undergraduate, including online.

Student life

‘TheHub’ is central to student life at Coventry University, being the place where students meet, get coffee, eat and socialise.  

Coventry University also offers a wealth of student support. Once enrolled, students are introduced to a personal Success Coach and Academic Tutor to support them on their personal and academic journey. Success coaches make sure students have the support to make the most of their course and everything university life has to offer. Academic Tutors offer specific academic support alongside your lectures, including guidance on internships, optional modules and how each module is assessed. They also offer student services such as Health, Studies, Career and Settling In. There is also additional international student support available.  

Students can choose from a range of self-catered undergraduate accommodation and postgraduate accommodation from private studios to rooms with en-suite facilities or shared bathrooms. By being part of Coventry University accommodation, students will also be part of Residence Life – a programme designed to support student well-being and build the student community. They arrange events, sports, fundraising, life-skills sessions as well as information and awareness campaigns. There are also activities such as trips as well as cooking, karaoke, movie nights and cultural celebrations. 

Coventry University is focused on graduate employment through a range of initiatives. With their links to leading organisations in the public, voluntary and private sectors, their students are able to access project and placement opportunities. Undergraduate students also get assigned a Success Coach.

What’s more, their Talent Team can help shape students’ unique professional profile to make the process of applying for jobs, especially if for the first time, less daunting. They offer free psychometric tests, interview tips and tricks and CV reviews, alongside hosting employability networking fairs.
