KTH is most known for its emblematic red brick campus nestled into the Royal National Park on the outskirts of central Stockholm. However, we conduct education and research at five campuses in the Stockholm region. Strategic placements of the campuses enable in-depth collaboration and close contact with industry and the surrounding community, all with a shared focus on digitalisation, sustainability, internationalisation and equality. The main KTH Campus is located in central Stockholm and has been an essential centre for research and education since the early 20th century. Most central functions and degree programmes are based here.
Student life
By choosing KTH, students gain access to a vibrant student life and a prestigious academic environment in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. Stockholm consistently ranks as one of the greenest, most high-tech and most enterprising cities in Europe. Its rich intellectual heritage and entrepreneurial environment make it the ideal place for international students to put their learning into action. With its fresh air, pristine waterfronts and many cultural institutions, Stockholm offers a unique blend of nature and urban living. Stockholm is also among the safest cities in the world and is considered one of the world's most liveable cities in international rankings.
A degree from KTH is a springboard to a successful career. KTH graduates quickly establish themselves on the job market with over 50 per cent landing their first job even before receiving their degree – much thanks to KTH’s strong reputation among employees.
As the home of the Nobel Prize, Sweden is known for its innovation and entrepreneurship. Swedes have invented everything from the steam turbine and dynamite to Bluetooth and Skype. At KTH Innovation, students get support to commercialise their business ideas, and over 10 per cent of KTH graduates go on to start their own company. Of the international student population, 12 per cent go on to PhD studies at KTH or other renowned universities.
